Helping others make better decisions.

Shipping products is still part of the job, but increasingly, the work is about helping other people make better decisions. Mentoring Junior Product Managers. Improving product workflows. Connecting engineering, design, business, and operations. Making sure teams understand not only what we’re building, but why. I’m still learning what good leadership looks like, but one thing has become clear: scaling yourself isn’t about making more decisions. It’s about making sure good decisions can happen without you. What changed: The product isn’t the only thing you’re building anymore. You’re also building the team around it.

Thinking in systems, not just features.

As the products grew, the questions I asked changed too. Instead of only asking “What feature should we build next?”, I found myself thinking more about “How should this platform evolve?” That led me deeper into search and discovery, analytics, experimentation, platform architecture, internal tooling, operational scalability, and the systems behind the user experience. What changed I started caring less about how many features shipped and more about whether the system could keep getting better.

Moladin — Associate Product Manager, Core Platform

Product gets messier when operations get involved.

Moladin taught me a very different side of product management. Instead of consumer-facing growth problems, I worked on internal platform problems: onboarding, access control, operational workflows, fraud mitigation, and decision support. The systems were less visible to end users, but the impact was very real. A small change in flow or validation could affect SLA, fraud risk, and day-to-day operations across teams. It made me appreciate product work that happens behind the scenes—the kind users may never notice, but businesses depend on. What changed I learned that some of the most important product work happens far away from the homepage.

goKampus — Senior Associate Product Manager

Learning product through users and growth.

goKampus was where I started experiencing product management in a much broader context. I worked across online learning products, internal tools, LMS and content-provider portals, CRM, loyalty, referral programs, push notifications, and growth initiatives. The interesting part was seeing how product decisions affected not only users, but also operations, partners, and growth teams at the same time. This was also where I learned that a good product isn’t always the most sophisticated one. Sometimes the best solution is simply the one that removes friction fastest. What changed I started looking beyond features and paying more attention to user behavior, operational friction, and business outcomes.

Telkom University — Master of Management, Digital Business & Marketing

Learning beyond engineering.

started graduate school while my career was shifting from engineering into product. Studying management, digital business, and marketing gave me a different lens on the same problems I had been solving technically. Suddenly, systems weren’t only about architecture and infrastructure—they were also about customers, markets, positioning, and business models. What changed I started seeing product decisions from both the technical and commercial side.

PT Gamatechno Indonesia — IoT System Analyst → Product Owner

Finding product through engineering.

This was probably the biggest turning point in my career. I joined Gamatechno from the engineering side, working on IoT platforms, hardware, connectivity, and technical architecture. Over time, I started spending more time on user flows, requirements, priorities, roadmaps, and conversations with developers and stakeholders. Somewhere along the way, the question changed from “How should we build this?” to “What should we build in the first place?” What changed Engineering taught me how to build. Product taught me what deserves to be built.

Figuring out where I fit.

This period wasn’t part of some carefully planned career strategy. I had just graduated, was still interning, didn’t have a full-time job yet, and honestly wasn’t sure what kind of career would fit me best. My background was in engineering, but I was starting to realize that my interests went beyond hardware and networks. So I tried a bit of everything: web development, product management, analytics, IoT, and several technical courses. Not because I had a master plan to become “multidisciplinary,” but because I was still figuring out what kind of work I actually enjoyed. That exploration helped me notice a pattern. I enjoyed being somewhere between technology, product, and business—technical enough to understand how things work, but still close to users, problems, and product decisions. What changed I stopped asking whether I should stay an engineer, and started looking for a role that could connect the things I enjoyed.

Telkom Indonesia & RC AdCNeT — IoT Engineering and Research

The pieces started connecting.

This was the year I stopped thinking only about devices. At Telkom, I worked with ANTARES, LoRaWAN infrastructure, device onboarding, RF testing, and enterprise IoT use cases. Around the same period, I led the AgriSoil research project at RC AdCNeT, connecting soil sensors, LoRaWAN, cloud platforms, and an Android application. For the first time, I was looking at the whole chain: hardware, connectivity, backend, application, and the people who would eventually use it. What changed I stopped seeing IoT as hardware. I started seeing it as a connected product system.

Mobile Communication Laboratory, Telkom University — Research Assistant & IoT Division Lead

Learning to lead by helping others grow.

I joined Mobilecomm at first because I was still unsure about my thesis direction and felt a little behind compared to friends who had already joined labs. What ended up staying with me was the leadership side of it. I eventually led the IoT division, worked with the team on research and capstone projects around technologies like NB-IoT and LoRaWAN, ran introductory IoT sessions for juniors, and spent a lot of time helping them work through projects and assignments. It was one of my earliest experiences of learning that leadership is not just about knowing more, but about helping other people understand, contribute, and grow together.

PT Pos Indonesia & PT Pindad — Early Engineering Internships

When engineering met the real world.

My first internships exposed me to two very different sides of technology. At Pos Indonesia, the work was practical and user-facing: fixing hardware, software, and network issues so people could keep working. A year later at Pindad, I worked on an IoT-based fire and explosion detection prototype for the Anoa 6×6 armored vehicle, where reliability and real-world constraints mattered much more. Different environments, but both taught me the same thing: technology only becomes useful when people can actually rely on it. What changed I started caring less about how sophisticated a system looked, and more about whether it worked when it mattered.

Learning to see systems, not just technology.

I didn’t know I would end up in product. Back then, I was simply fascinated by how technology worked beneath the surface. Networking, embedded systems, wireless communication, and signal processing taught me to think beyond individual components. Every decision affected another part of the system. Looking back, this engineering mindset became the foundation of how I approach product management today. What changed Engineering taught me to see systems instead of isolated features.
